AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR KIDS

The students will experience different medias, with a concentration on the elements of design in art using artist quality materials.

4:30 to 6:00 every Tuesday and Friday

$50. a month

Students must have a 11 X 14 sketch book drawing pencils and eraser
All other materials included.
Students must dress appropriately to make a mess.


CREATIVE ARTS PROGRAM

BEGINNER 1 AGES 5 TO 6 SATURDAY 9 - 10
A basic introduction into developing an understanding of how to draw and use colour in a reassuring and fun enviroment. Cultivating the natural ability within all children early provides an advantage that carries over to other areas.

BEGINNER 2 AGES 7 - 8 SATURDAY 10:05 - 11:05
Developing and encouraging the skills already started in drawing and painting and use of 3D materials.

BEGINNER 3 AGES 9 - 10 SATURDAY 11:10 - 12:10
More in depth understanding of drawing and use of colour. Introducing more materials and reinforcing creativity. Introducing styles of diffferent art periods. Includes a variety of subject matter, animals, cartoons, landscape and figures.

BEGINNER 4 AGES 11 TO 12 SATURDAY 12:40 - 1:40
A more challenging approach to developing drawing ,painting, and sculpting skills and habits. Introducing more art history through acuall experimenting with styles. Keeping the fun in learning a variety of techniques in and imaginative way.

Art kits vary for each level. (sketch books, pencils, charcoal, markers, brushes, paints and erasers) One trial class available for $20, materials provided.

Beginner 1 to 4 classes are 12 weeks for one hour for $150.00


DRAWING AND PAINTING ANIMALS

This course is great for animal lovers, and budding naturalists. Artistic skills will be developed through interesting study of furry, scaley or feathered friends.

8 week course 1 hour and 1.5 hours for teens and adults

Ages 5 - 8 cost $150.00, class limit 6. Saturday 1:45 - 2:45

Ages 9 - 12 cost $150.00, class limit 8 Saturday 2:50 - 3:50

Ages 13 to 17 cost $200. class limit 9 Saturday 4:00 - 5:30

Adult cost $230. limit 9 Saturday 5:35 - 7:05

Students are responsible for their Zoo entrance fee.


ADVANCED YOUTH ART

Ages 13 to 17

For the more serious student wanting to develope drawing and painting skills in a creative enviroment. Exploration of variuos mediums and techniques will be emphasized. Students must have their own materials. List provided.

Course is 12 weeks for 1.5 hours cost is $250.00. Tuesday 6:15 to 7:45


FIGURE DRAWING FOR TEENS

This is an introduction to drawing the human body using a costumed model. Basic anatomy, improving drawing skills and colour thoery, pertaining to the model, will be emphasized. Any student interested in persueing fashion design, graphic arts, or fine arts will benefit from this. Intermediate classes will follow as students develop.

Course 12 weeks for 1.5 hours. Cost is $275.00. Wednesday 4:30 to 6:00

COPPER ENAMELING

Make your own wearable art, Beginner level.

6 weeks for 1.5 hours
Beginner teens 9 to 12 cost $150.00. Thursday 4:30 to 6:00
Ages 13 to 16 cost $180.00 Thursday 6:05 to 7:35
Adult cost $180.00 Thursday 7:40 9:10
Basic materials included, more elaborate materials are available for an extra cost.


SUMMER ART PROGRAM

Morning program runs from 10 to 12, Afternoon program runs from 1 to 3
Full day is 10 to 3, full day students bring their lunch.

LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS morning
Do you like animals? Children will explore the wonderful world of animals in art. A variety of media will be presented.

WATERCOLOUR FOR CHILDREN

This workshop explores the techniques and tools used in watercolour. Media is exclusively watercolour, though there will be a slight cross over between such media as pen and ink.

July 12 to 14

TIME MACHINE morning
Travel back in time to a variety of civilizations. Explore ancient Egypt, walk amongst the dinosaurs, discover cave art, and more. It is an exciting journey through art and time. A variety of media will be presented.

DIMENSIONS afternoon
Join us for our sculpture workshop. The children will be using a variety of media from clay to paper mache', be prepared to get messy and super creative. A variety of media will be presented. There is a materials fee for this workshop.

July 19 to 23

BOOKMAKING morning
Do you like to read? Do you like to write stories? Discover the world of making books. Your own books! The children will be making a variety of books through the ages, while creating their own stories. A variety of media, such as pen and ink, watercolour and assemblage will be presented.

DIG DINOSAURS afternoon
Come and explore the world of pre-historic art. Create cave paintings, dino bones, and so much more. Yes pre-historic man liked art!!!! A variety of media will be presented.

July 26 to 30

PAINTING LIKE PICASSO morning
This workshop explores the different periods in art. The children will learn about different artists and techniques throughout history, Mainly acrylic painting will be presented.

THE SIXTIES afternoon
Journey back to the sixties, where everything was psycodellic, and Pop Art, colour and pattern was all the rage. A variety of media will be presented.

OIL AND WATER morning
An exploration into the world of mixed media. A variety of media will be presented.

Papier Mache' afternoon
Discover the world of paper mache, and get really messy and have lots of fun!!!!

Children must be between the ages of 6 to 12 years of age. Those coming for all day workshops must bring their own lunch and snack, we also suggest some bottled water. We do provide before and after care if required, this must be arranged at least a week prior to the workshop.

COST

Half day $95. plus tax for a week

Full day $175.00 plus tax for a week

Subtract $15.00 for a 4 week workshop
Any extra day care will be extra.

All workshops include material with the exception of our sculpture workshop fee which if $20.00.
